My first experience of cabin camping in Iceland was a good one. Nice welcome by working farmers family. Warm cabin recently finished to a high standard. All the facilities needed for two single bunks.
Most adorable private cabin, fully equipped, overlooking the farm. The host/owner was very personable. Her sweet daughter gave us a private tour of the farm and introduced us to the animals. Bring your own food and grill/cook on the deck or in the kitchen. Your home away for your stay.
The farm is in the middle of nowhere, so you can enjoy peace and quiet. The room was comfortable and had a sink, which was really useful when all the shared bathrooms were busy. The toilets were clean and you had enough space in the showers to change. We also dined at the restaurant, a bit expensive but considering the food and the distance of the location from other settlements was to be expected. I recommend to try their lamb, very soft and savoury.
This is outstanding and has a nice history. The great grandfather was a postman and his story and photos are presented in a small museum of interest. The cabins and campground are surrounded by nice Icelandic farm views. Two ladies, true musicians, can delight you with their voices and instruments playing. The atmosphere is so friendly...a delight. The cabins are very comfortable and pleasant with good beds, showers....
We absolutely loved our stay here, it was real Icelandic countryside and the hosts were just so lovely.. we even got invited to the farm to see the animals! It was the best nights sleep on our whole Iceland trip, the kids slept until 10 am for the first time ever in their life! Such comfy beds and nice cottage. Really recommend this place for everyone and for families with younger kids it is awesome! Would love to come back one day!
The food in the restaurant was superb, serving home grown produce from their own farm.
Would happily recommend to anyone in the local area looking for some accomodation and good food.

Forniture was original and really good
Spacious cottage with everything you need to cook a male and with great view on the farm outside. The hot tub is an amazing plus to relax after a day out hiking.
Good directions to the location, super friendly staff, small but well furnished and very comfortable room, very clean bathroom. Excellent included breakfast with products from owner's farm, including fresh waffles.
The dinner at the restaurant was really good as well.
