For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
The owners, who are so friendly and nice, converted a big old barn into a beautiful guest house. And the horses and sheep and goats are there for you to enjoy, as it is a working farm.
Lovely place, had not realised that it is a working farm, but it was great for us for a night. The hosts were very kind and we even had a show during breakfast, with a bit on icelandic history, the vikings and genetics... most entertaining.
The guesthouse is in a beautiful setting overlooking the farms and mountains. Our hosts were very helpful and lovely to chat with and overall perfect hosts. The shared kitchen is really well equipped and the dining room is fantastic with plenty of space and windows overlooking the valley. There are lounge areas to use. We enjoyed the one adjacent to the dining room to relax. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade breads, jams, eggs, porridge etc. We would love to come back again.
The guesthouse is very well maintained and the host is very attentive and shared about Icelandic farming life.
Please note that some rooms are shared bath and some private. So please pay attention, if private bath is important to you.
EVERYTHING! clean, hot tub, breakfast, Hosts were super friendly and talkative, gave some tips of where to go. They have a cute farm with sheeps, goats, chicken and horses. We really enjoyed the stay!
Lovely farm! Comfortable, convenient, clean and cosy. They make you feel at home and they are very kind and unique! Very nice and homemade breakfast. We really enjoyed the horseriding, too! We would definately come back!
It was really nice chatting with the owners and visiting the farm. This converted building is really amazing. The breakfast was really good as well. The location of the farm is also quite good if travelling on the Ring Road. Will love to stay there again if we ever go back to Iceland.
This is a converted farm into a B&B. The bedroom was snug but clean and comfortable. The public areas are impressively done with large rooms and a big kitchen and dining room. Breakfast was good. There is free parking just outside.
