For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
Nicola and Paul were very welcoming and friendly hosts. We had a self contained downstairs studio which had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The farm was charming and clean, the farmhouse breakfast amazing and there are plenty of places to explore nearby.
Grand and historic Georgian farmhouse which is beautifully furnished. The bedrooms are comfortable and full of historic features. The breakfast is excellent and there is plenty of choice. Ella is a wonderful host and ensured that everything was satisfactory for my stay.
Oak beams, wooden floors, rustic farmhouse feeling. Quirky decor with a large wood burner stove. Plenty of room for two of us to relax in. John was very friendly. He met us on arrival and welcomed us by having the fire lit and the electric blanket switched on. Lovely views from a large window overlooking the gardens.
Lovely old farmhouse with interesting architecture nicely modernised but retaining old architecture's feel. Ella was very helpful given I was due to leave around 4:30 am for a race. Quiet location. Ideal for what I wanted.
Very quiet peaceful location, if you want a taste of simple rural living then this is the place to visit. Loved the swing seat outside and the outdoor seating area.
The kids also loved exploring the gardens and reading the short stories about the area provided in the folder in the barn. Tip read the stories first then explore outside.
Lovely location and surroundings. The barn had what we needed for our stay and is very rustic. The owner is superb with communication and provided lots of information about the local area. Also supplied wood etc. for the fire. The pool wasn’t open at this time of year but that would be a fabulous bonus in the summer months. Lots of good walks and peace and quiet. Close to major towns like Oswestry and Wrexham if needed but still very rural, which is what we like.
loved the rural location and the rustic charm of the barn
