For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
Spacious, clean, well maintained house, stocked with all the basics you need for a week's stay. Dog friendly, on an arable farm, with a beautiful view from the garden and a loop walk through the fields which the dogs loved. Many places to visit within an easy drive, including castles, beaches, walks, an aquarium and the Scottish dolphin centre.
Quirky off grid site with everything you would need to glamp. Stayed in the wheelhouse, plenty of room in there and it's kitchen next door, had a tour of the farm with Jamie who was lovely and gave us some recommendations for the day, used the sauna on site, would return and look to stay in another one of their glamping huts/houses
The entire property was fantastic. The yurt was spacious and warm. Kitchen area had all the utensils needed. Toilet and shower facilities great. Fantastic views from the Cronnoch. Hot tub great and really warm. All hosts lovely and helpful. Jamie allowed us to be hands on with the farm by rearing in the ewes and lambs. Best weekend away ever. A hidden wee gem.
I like how the kids got involved with the lambing at the farm, they farmers were very polite. Also that you can fish or paddleboard for free, unfortunately the weather for the few days there stopped all that. The place would be amazing in the summer
Netherdale Coach House is in a beautiful rural location, the property is gorgeous and generally speaking is well thought out. Louise and her family took great care of us, bringing us some extra supplies during a big winter storm, and she was always responsive to queries by text message. The hot tub was lovely, the stove was super, and being able to watch red squirrels through the big window was special.
Location was idyllic. The owner was superb taking time out to show us around the farm. The free vegetable patch was a nice surprise the shop was well kitted out if you forgot anything.
Lovely cottage.
Beautiful interior design.
All new appliances and everything we needed.
Hot tub was fab.
We didn't mind the rural location but others may find it in the middle of nowhere..
