There was everything you could need, even a box of chocolates! The little details like milk in the fridge were very thoughtful. The hot tub was perfect and there were robes provided. The summer house was well equipped and we didn’t even have to wash up! Alpaca walking was included in the cost which was brilliant and the whole experience was great! The two dogs are super friendly and love attention. There is plenty to do close by. A pub just a 10 minute walk away that serves home cooked food and an Indian restaurant at the end of the lane. It was super quiet and peaceful.

The location to the venue we were going to was great and that is why we picked it. Breakfast the following morning was good and we had a choice of about 6 things. All fresh produce, took a while (35 minutes) but nice when arrived. Cereal, juice fruit and yoghurt were available if we wanted them. There was no difference in charge for the full breakfast or just a sandwich.
For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
We did not stay at Poplar House but instead The Barn from the same letting company. This was due to a double booking. Luckily it wasn't much further away. The Barn is a lovely house, with great facilities. Very clean and a short drive to the motorway with access to all directions. Tea, coffee and a welcome bottle of bubbles was a great touch.
The minimum standard was very high like you see in most franchise style rooms. Cleanliness was perfect, modern and welcoming.
They also had those extra touches of personal competence that comes from a privately run very nice b&b. A free breakfast even with gluten free options, a small bar and social areas, friendly staff that make you feel like a visitor rather than one of a faceless horde of travellers.
All of this with a price that makes you worry it's too cheap and fantastic road access that makes it easy to find.
The Shephards hut was perfect for our needs. In a lovely spot (on the owners farm but very private) surrounded by sheep, donkeys, horses and cows. The hot tub was fab. Even though the weather was rubbish, the hut was warm and cosy. Lots to do nearby to keep kids occupied on rainy days. We would highly recommend.
Beautiful, well presented property in a wonderful setting on a working farm with exceptionally helpful and friendly owners. We were left a wonderful welcome.basket and honestly can say that this is one of the nicest properties we have stayed in.
This cosy apartment is in the middle of town but once you're inside it doesn't feel like that. Main road behind it but couldn't hear the traffic at all. The court yard is walled and secured with a lock on the gate which made me feel very safe, especially being alone in a ground apartment. Well decorated to a rustic style. Everything I needed inside. Great location for heading up to the Lakes as a middle stop, great rail links at Preston.
Wonderfully rural - your own transport is essential - cosy, comfortable bungalow. Thoughtful hosts. Excellent value for money. I am so glad that I found this hidden treasure!
The breakfast was unbelievably good suiting everyone's taste.Like the best farmhouse breakfast. Very warm welcome awaited us from the friendly proprietor. Would recommend highly for a great place to stay.
Very peaceful, in a farm. Beautiful surroundings. We could take the dog and had late check in. Modern facilities. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was modern and clean. The fridge had milk, and there was coffee/tea/sugar and crumpets in the pantry for breakfast. Saved the morning!
