For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
We were lucky with the weather - sunny and very warm for the two days we were there. We might have had a different impression if it had been rainy. As it was the balcony provided us with extra room and we could easily move around the site and enjoy the rural setting and use the cafe etc. There were three of us and t was good value for money compared with a hotel. We had a small problem with the sink and the manager fixed it immediately.
Haselor Farm is a working farm in a perfect, quiet location. Jackie, who hosts, is the most welcoming and helpful you could wish for. The B & B is dog friendly, which was a top priority, with safe outdoor space.
We had a lovely stay, Jackie was an excellent host who made us feel very welcome. It was a lovely clean room with a very comfortable bed. It was a little cold at times but it is a very large beautiful old farmhouse so probably difficult to keep warm we still give it a 10 as we are pretty sure if we had requested the heating to be turned up then it would have been done. It is a lovely country setting so picturesque and peaceful. We would definitely stay again.
The farmhouse is charming and the grounds beautiful, so well kept and all you could hear were the birds.
Jacky was a most attentive host and went above and beyond to make our stay the enjoyable experience it was. The breakfasts were delicious. My elderly Jack Russell loved to potter around the gorgeous garden. Would definitely stay there again, if in a nearby area.
