For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
We had a great time at Toby's place and were very happy for him as a host. The villa is perfectly located in a small neighborhood and was an excelllent spot for us and our parents to relax at the pool, have dinner with a great view of the ocean and start excursions around Tenerife. Toby also invited us to his ecotourism project Buena Vista Rural Club in the west of Tenerife which we will hopefully visit again at some point in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay in Casa Rural. It is situated in quite place out from main streets and it offers a nice views from the top of the hill. You can enjoy spacious interier and privacy as the house is located at the bottom of the vineyard.
The room is very cosy and we really liked the rustic style and decoration. The outside terrace is very nice with enough room to sit comfortably and enjoy the views.
Next door there is a really nice guachinche (local family restaurant) with good wine and food.
It's a nice 30 minute walk to the centre of La Orotava, where there is a lot to do and see!
The accommodation was perfect - spacious with terrace and pool, comfortable beds. We didn't even use all the equipment in the kitchen. The neighborhood was exactly as expected - we wanted a quiet place on a farm - among banana fields, yet close to places of interest.
View from the terrace of Mount Teide and the nearby hills was a 10, quirky two part flat. Abi was so wanting that my stay went well. Bed comfortable. Enjoyed being in such a rural location and up and down walk to the bus stop at Los Pinos, friendly local cafes and mini supermarkets in La Floride..Nice walks at park Caderna, north of Aquamansa. Bus 348 to Mt Teide passes Los Pinos.
A great rural finca with amazing gardens and totally private surroundings. If you're looking for a rural retreat then you can't go wrong here! Fruit trees, singing wild canaries around the pool.
Getting there is a bit difficult, the roads are really steep and narrow and several were closed. Don't rely on GPS! The owner met us at the local petrol station and showed us the way in and out, which was really appreciated.
