For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
Clean, attractive room overlooking a horse paddock and stream, great shower, generous cold breakfast provided. Staff were very professional and helpful. Lovely farm setting
Comfortable bed and facilities, appreciated the kitchenette. Loved the bottle of sparkles in the fridge! Didn't meet the owners as the winery was closed whilst we were there but communication was excellent and check in/out super easy. Lovely rural location.
We loved the farmhouse- it was huge for just the three of us. The kitchen was very well equipped and had beautiful views over the surrounding lush green countryside. There were loads of nick-nacks that just made it feel so homely and cosy. The garden was great too for a game of frisbee and watching the goats.
The managers were very helpful. The place suited the family and the friends I invited perfectly. The layout of the house was good. We enjoyed using the dining room to play board games and loved the back verandah area for entertaining friends who came to visit. The location was great. We enjoyed returning to the quiet seclusion of the farmhouse after a busy day out after our activities at the beach or in the towns. The kitchen was well equipped. There were plenty of clean tea towels and bath towels. The bathrooms and floors were clean.
Kym was an excellent host giving a few of us a tour of the property and information regarding the history of the property and its owners. He also supplied us with some farm fresh eggs for brekkie one morning.
The open fire pit was a hit with all the kids toasting marshmellows and the indoor fire was lovely of the evening warming the place.
Quiet rural location. Host was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast provision were very good. 15/20 minute drive to lovely coastal towns and restaurants.
