For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
The farm was beautiful, the outlook was so lovely. We enjoyed walking on the property and feeding the farm animals who were friendly. We also enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the afternoon watching the sun go down….The house was simple but comfortable.Very relaxing Farmstay away from city life.
Breakfast was meagre - farmstay should include bacon and eggs as a minimum. Very ordinary cereal, white bread (no-one likes this except children) and off the shelf toppings.
This is not like other Big4 holiday parks. It’s set on a gorgeous hillside with beautiful old cottages as cabins, and a real farm stay vibe. There are beautiful views of the ocean, and all you need in the rooms and the little shop onsite. there is also a small restaurant but we didn’t use it.
We stayed in the Shearer’s Quarters, which was a super cute old building converted into a motel style room. Small, but perfect for 3 people (or 2 adults, 2 small children) due to a fold out bed.

The location is excellent for combining with an itinerary to kangaroo island.
The house is an old farm house, which is reflected in the amenities, the space is huge and has a lovely fireplace to be enjoyed in the living room on a chilly night.
