Superlative reviews raise suspicion, but my recent stay at S Hotel Boutique deserves nothing but superlatives. I felt at home from the second I walked through the door, despite my appearance (clad in sweaty and partially ripped cycling kit). The hotel staff was kind, professional and welcoming. The room: delightfully large, stylish, and sleek. And it came with a balcony. Excellent breakfast, too. Special shout-out to Sophia for the drinks service and restaurant tips and Tylos for his help with packing and shipping my precious bicycle. Very much appreciated. A memorable stay. If you're in Thessaloniki, this is the hotel I would recommend. Wholeheartedly so.

In the heart of Thessaloniki, The Modernist Thessaloniki combines old-world grace with casual luxury, set in a striking 1920’s heritage building. A brilliant place to stay. The rooms are cool and comfortable and the breakfasts are great. The staff are absolutely wonderful. They arranged an excellent local wine tasting for me. Also, when I forgot my iPad, they couriered it to their sister hotel in Athens so I could pick it up before I travelled back to the UK. I cannot praise them enough.
