This family-run hotel is located in the heart of the Rothaargebirge Nature Park, 7 km from Schmallenberg. Gasthaus Tröster is located in Jagdhaus, one of the higher places in the surroundings. Many hiking trips cross or start in Jagdhaus. In February we had snow, in April we had a lot of sun and we really enjoyed sitting in the sun on the balcony in the afternoon until dinner time. Personnel is friendly and helpfull it is cosy and we really felt like at home.

This family-run, 4-star hotel is located close to Schmallenberg in the Rothaargebirge nature park. It offers elegant rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a large breakfast buffet. I booked late and arrived late after a 14km hike! The kitchen was already closed, but they still made me a light meal! Ibwas only there for one night, but everything looked so good and the people were very helpful! The breakfast was very good, but as i've been to many hotels, the breakfast was standard for that kind of pricerange, so that's still excelent but not different. It might be because i chose the stirred eggs and bacon with herbs mixed in(so not very local). The outside was very nice and clean! Eventough they(landscapers) were working outside my window i only noticed when i opened the windows. So even for a short stay this was worth the max amount of stars!
