This hotel stands beside a lake in Cologne’s city forest. It offers quiet rooms, a lakeside beer garden and direct train/bus connections to Cologne's historic centre. The room was absolutely gorgeous, and our receptionist, Amore, was incredibly kind and helpful. It was our first visit to Cologne, and we were thrilled that our room offered a stunning view of the lake. The hotel also has its own paid parking area, which made it so convenient to leave the car and take a short walk to the nearby tram station for easy access to the city center. Breakfast was amazing—definitely one of the best we’ve ever had! The food was so delicious, and we enjoyed it while taking in the beautiful lake view. In the evening, we also had a great time at the hotel bar, relaxing with a friend over drinks. The walls are a bit thin, so you might hear other guests if they're being particularly loud or "enthusiastically engaged" (if you catch my drift), but thankfully, it didn’t last long. Our stay was wonderful! The room felt luxurious and was fully equipped with all the amenities we needed. To top it off, there was a charming mini Christmas market in the park just behind the hotel, which made the experience even more special. I truly had so much fun and loved every moment of our visit!

Situated in Cologne and within 2.2 km of Nikolauskirche, Hotel Haus Schwan Köln has a restaurant, allergy-free rooms, and free WiFi. My room wasn't very big, but its layout made sense. It even had a shower (not a bathroom; a shower, plus a sink). You can see the stall’s side on the right in the photo. It may look a bit odd, but it's actually very convenient for an introvert like me :D Keep in mind that it's a pretty old building (though nicely maintained), and it FEELS old—both the décor and the general atmosphere. To me, it felt a bit like being in a 1990s point-and-click adventure game. The price for a single room was incredibly good, as was the location, including the view out the window: Lindenthal is gorgeous in my opinion, and it also feels less “touristy” than the area right by the Dom. (It’s still very well connected to the city center, though!) The guy at reception was also nice—helpful, and patient with my poor German 😅

Set in Cologne, 1.4 km from Nikolauskirche, Villa Aurelia offers recently renovated accommodation with free WiFi and a garden. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation features a patio. The apartment inside the villa was nice, warm and welcoming. The host very nice, friendly. Nothing is missing in the apartment, there are all appliances and it is very clean.
