From the moment that Viviane contacted me in the bus from São Paulo, advised me to change the stop that I was going to be getting off at, and said that her husband, Miguel would collect me, I knew I had chosen the right place to stay. When Miguel picked me up, he was excited to talk about what was on offer all around the accommodation, and requested that I speak with him about any issues that I encountered. He was genuinely interested about my country of origin, (Australia), and asked many questions about it. He shared with me similarities with Brazil and made me feel like he was collecting a family member from the bus station. Knowing that I was travelling on my own, he checked in with me daily and offered me to join him and other staff members, after work, for drinks and playing pool. The other staff members were so friendly and personalised in their service, always dropping what they were doing to assist you. Their breakfasts, that they prepared, were amazing! The location is amazing as well. About a 10 minute walk to the beach and about 5 minute walk to the Laundromat, large Supermarket, as well as little bars and the many restaurants. On the final day, I misread the time of my flight and missed it. As soon as Miguel and Viviane found out, they began offering assistance, searching the internet in order to contact the airline on my behalf. Miguel ended up driving me, then waited until I confirmed that I had another flight, in case I needed another night’s accommodation. Thank you Viviane and Miguel, for going far and beyond your requirements as hosts.
