Set in Pompei, 2.8 km from Mappatella Beach, Relais Country House Pompei offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a shared lounge and a garden. The hotel (more like a good B&B) was small, friendly. the rooms were wonderful, well equipped, and the breakfast was excellent. We had dinner in the same in house restaurant and although the selection was small (is you do not eat pork or seafood) but there was something for everyone and the food, as well as desert, were excellent. Besides, the view of Mt. Vesuvio fron the room balcony was awesome (hoping it does not erupt during our stay 🙂). Wifi was good, in the room and in the restaurant. Incidentally, the rooms did not have numbers but rather... names. that was nice.

Our first experience in Italy was made so memorable with the wonderful experience at Il Caslae Di Don Matteo. We were greeted on arrival by Matteo who picked us up from our taxi & drove us down the narrow lane towards the bed & breakfast. It is situated in stunning Italian countryside, with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. We were treated every day to a freshly prepared 4 course breakfast from Teresa, all with local ingredients of the farm. The food was absolutely delicious & beautifully presented. The property is situated about 10 minutes up the hill from Vico centre & the buses run roughly every hour. The small village of St Andrea has some lovely restaurants (all with amazing views) & very friendly locals. We cannot recommend Il Caseo Di Don Matteo highly enough. The Masseria del Carmine Maggiore 1817 is a former Carmelite monastery and farmhouse complex that was converted in 2021 to its present form, a working farm and a bed and breakfast with every comfort, and brimming with charm. My room was very large, with views of the farm and the courtyard. The restoration preserved all of the ancient features, combined with modern luxury. Modern bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very clean, with daily service. The Masseria has an excellent restaurant. The included breakfast offers amazing baked items, cheeses, meats and eggs, and coffee. The grounds of the farm provide walking trails all around the pastures, where you can inspect the vineyards, and appreciate the farm animals. There are Roman ruins to be seen on this property. An Ideal spot in which to launch daily excursions. There is a bus stop at the street and a local train stop nearby, but I had a rental car, and was glad I did. The entire staff at the Masseria is professional and friendly, very kind and helpful. Mrs. Grazia was an excellent hostess. Antonio on staff, who is retired from a career at the historic excavations at Herculaneum, was so generous to share his experience about the ancient ruin, of which he is completely and enthusiastically knowledgable on every detail. Ciro, the sweet pointer dog, a rescue, will keep welcome you. A wonderful respite tucked into an ancient volcanic crater.

Words fail to adequately describe the perfection of my stay at this hotel. It was genuinely a slice of paradise on earth. Not only was the room of unmatched comfort, but the view from the windows of the room was simply breathtaking - a gorgeous pool and the splendor of the sea on the same view. From the moment we arrived at the bus stop, we were warmly welcomed by one of the hotel's three managers. They not only ensured our transportation to the hotel, but also took the time to transport us to our next destination. Their generosity and commitment to our comfort added a truly personal touch that made our stay even more special. The room was simply divine. The soothing ambiance created by the careful decoration, impeccable cleanliness, and comforting smell immediately made us feel at ease. Every detail was designed to provide us with the utmost comfort and make us feel at home. As for the proposed itinerary, it was perfectly suited to our length of stay and our budget. It was a real pleasure to discover the places recommended by the managers, who demonstrated exceptional local knowledge. The highlight of each day was undoubtedly the customized breakfast. It was prepared according to our wishes and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food offered. Every bite was a delight, getting our day off to a great start. In summary, this hotel is a hidden gem that exceeded all our expectations. The managers truly care about the details, and their dedication to making our stay enjoyable was evident at every moment. If you're looking for an extraordinary hotel experience, look no further. I highly recommend this hotel and I can't wait to return for another perfect stay. A 10/10 isn't enough to express the perfection of this experience, it was simply sublime.
