We had a wonderful time at Otu Hostel. Nania, Robby, Elvira and staff made us feel very welcome each time we passed the lobby. They also helped us a lot with usefull advice and logistics. Neighbourhood is lively and kind of hipster, with lots of nice restaurants at walking distance. Hostel though is a peaceful and quiet place. Very good value for money with real and warm persons running the business.

We met a beautiful friend in a relaxed and cozy space run by the kindest and warmest owner. If you expect quietness like a hotel, think of the price. But it's not this side of the road, it's quiet, and even the guests have peaceful and pleasant conversations. Choose this guesthouse to share the amazing story of your trip to Indonesia:)

Location: as quiet as you can get and right in the heart of the city. Very peaceful. Add ons: not only the free breakfast (Indonesian or western), there is a fridge you can use to store your bits, free coffee/tea/ water all day and as well as this they have scooters to rent. Tip: from 5pm head left of the hostel to the square Alun Alun Kidul (500mts) and every night you’ll get tons of food stalls to enjoy Javenese cuisine.

The room, the facility, the hospitality. Staff are very friendly and cater to our needs, even woke up at 4 for early check out and extra unplanned night. Breakfast is good and prepared fresh daily with home-cooked kentang kering our favourite. We love Piko the dog and the green surroundings. Peaceful and quiet place, great for couple.

The position of the hotel was just perfect, as it was just off Marioboro St and close to all the other attraction, markets ,museums and station. The breakfasts were fabulous, with so much variety and the breakfast staff were exceptional keeping everything fresh and clean, which was a huge job as it was packed everyday ...public holidays ! The reception staff were also exceptional, friendly welcoming and helpful. We were there for a week of chaos out on the streets, but our hotel remained quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our stay .

Ndalem Mantrigawen is a heritage building nearest the Yogyakarta Royal Palace (Kraton). Which is located in the midst of town but is quiet and peaceful. So, this guest house is suitable for family vacations, and also comfortable for work from remote areas.

Nice and quiet place, a little bit outside the center but peaceful and calm. After tours and traffic in the city it is nice to find a comfortable and relaxing place to get some rest, the pool and the nice view from the garden are really appreciated. The restaurant inside the hotel is good and so distance to the city is not a problem, we had diner inside the hotel. Robert and his wife are very nice people! We had a big problem with our scheduled flight and those people did everything possible to help us! We strongly recommend!

Lovely location. Super friendly owners. Comfortable bed. Very quiet and peaceful. When the weather is clear you have a good view of Mount Merapi.

Great location on a quiet street right next to a touristic street filled with restaurants, a small supermarket, laundrette and art galleries. This was the only place we stayed on Java that we weren’t woken up by a mosque in the middle of the night! It was the perfect peaceful hideaway in a bustling city. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, so we felt very much at home staying here.
