Located in Villavieja, Alojamiento Casa de campo los Cactus offers a garden. There is a restaurant serving Latin American cuisine, and free private parking is available. The staff was really nice. It's located 500 m from the observatory (there are 5 observatories in Tatacoa desert) which is convenient if you want to do the star gazing. It's also 5 min walk from a few restaurants. They offer breakfast, luncb and dinner for a small charge. They rent bikes and offer a tour to the Grey and Red desert which we took as it was nice hearing about the fornations, how the desert (or rather dry tropical forest) came to be. There's a lot of different types of birds in the garden. Since it's in a desert, there's no electricity, meaning there's no fridge, but they have ice available if you want to cool your drinks. There's no wifi which we didn't mind as it was nice to relax and just enkoy the nature. Staff was very helpful with organizing the transport back to Villaviejas. The room was nice and quite spacious, clean, but very hot (which is to be expected in the middle of the desert). There's a fan in the room.

Free private parking is available on site. a very bright, cozy place where take care of you. Not far from the city center, you can walk to cafes and shops, host met us warmly, the rooms are small but cozy, the hotel grounds are beautiful, there are many hammocks, a swimming pool and a jacuzzi, a delicious breakfast, there is a tuk-tuk service to get to the desert and the observatory.
