It had great ambience, there is outdoor picnic areas that has really great views. The rooms were spacious and looks out to great mountain views. It is a nice place to spend some time to rest and recharge.

Due to a week-long conference at the nearby Tung-Hwa University with some of my students, we decided to choose this local hostel instead of hotels in Hualien city. The madam (boss) is very kind and indeed offers us free breakfast every day. It seems that we are the only guests in the entire building, making it very relaxing. The surroundings are tranquil during the night. The room is clean, and complimentary bottles of mineral water are provided in unlimited quantities, which is extremely helpful given the hot weather. A 15-minute walk will take you to the main road of the town, where there are many restaurants available.

Great view of the morning sun rise over the mountain peak. Relatively clean bed and big room.
It's just opposite a 7-eleven, and also the bus stop if you're coming from Hualien station. Lift was useful and the owner was nice to lend me their private washing machine to do laundry.
The owner doesn't speak English but it was no problem with translation apps.

New house and very nice and helpful owner, who's easy to communicate in English with. The room is basic with no decorations or whatsoever which I definitely prefer to teddy bears and pink Hello Kitty-decorations ☺️
