The house is very well situated in the village, with a lot of parking space nearby (100m). The rooms are rustic and comfy. On the second floor there is a little terrace with great views.
The staff was really nice and check-in was easy. Breakfast is very nice, with ham, cheese, eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, toasted bread, butter and jam.

This property is situated in a small village which is a good starting point for the route of the historical villages. Despite the language barrier, as we do not speak Portuguese, we had no problem communicating. Our host Laura Mendes is a charming, attentive person who makes the best coffee in Portugal and a good breakfast. Her son who speaks English helped us when we arrived with all of the information. Provisions can be found in the village or close by at Orca, there is a small grocery and restaurant or there is the town of Lardosa not too far.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes located in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, like trekking, bird watching, and cycling.
Wonderful to stay in Monsanto and really take time to experience the town. Wonderful host that despite speaking little English was very helpful in booking us dinner, making us a beautiful breakfast and transported our bags up and down the hill in her little car. It would NOT be possible to stay in Monsanto without this help it’s just too hilly! Comfy bed, spacious apartment very dark and quiet at night. Easy access to walk to castle first thing in morning. Beautiful views in town
Bode Country House is a beautiful B&B in a wonderful setting. The hosts were so warm, inviting and accommodating. Attention was paid to the finest details. Even the place settings at breakfast were perfect!
And it is near Monsanto, which is an amazing village to visit.

Lovely location, adjustable air conditioning system and all very well done, with everything you need in a small but simple layout. Quality fixtures and fittings and a little luxurious feel overall.
Bode Country house is a very beautiful place to stay and convenient to visiting the area. I wish we were able to spend more time there. The hosts are very nice and accommodating.
Location, room size, cleanliness, great views, quiet, close to sites. Walk up hill to the sites was strenuous but worth the effort. Owner very helpful. Amazing breakfast.
Amazing little stone casa/suite decorated with taste and thought in every "touch", incredibly comfy bed with lovely linens, peaceful & idyllic setting (very quiet and away from it all 🙏), delicious breakfast, picking our own oranges (and the tastiest we've ever had), the fountain with mountain spring water for drinking, the Old Roman Road / path to the unbelievable village of Monsanto, and lovely hosts. Many thanks to Ingrid & her husband for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. 😊

After a day of travel we pulled into the beautiful Bode Country House Catarina and Stefano were so friendly and welcoming. The infinity pool with views of the mountains and olive grove was just what we needed. The room and the breakfast was fabulous. I highly recommend this lovely peaceful charming hotel

Wow! What a unique stay with gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside. Right in the heart of Monsanto and walking distance to everything you need to see including hiking trails. Amazing fireplace and we loved the ancient boulder inside the house that it is built around. We cannot say enough lovely things about the hosts. They were very accommodating; by helping us with anything we needed, housekeeping services, and bringing delicious food for us. We will definitely be returning one day!
