The breakfast was great - delicious, lots of varieties and filling. The chocolate cake was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and each was an ensuite. We liked the location of the place and the comfort of the rooms. It was nice that we could help ourselves to tea at any time and we got water bottles in the room. Joaquim, the host, was very welcoming and explained very well. He spoke Portuguese, quite a lot of Spanish, some English, and a bit of French. His wife Maria whom we met at breakfast could speak some French. We were able to communicate well. The place was very close to the Church of Santiago. Since we were there from Saturday to Sunday, we heard the sound of the bells for mass at 10:30 am on Sunday and were able to attend it. It was helpful that Joaquim told us upon our arrival that the time would change on Sunday at dawn - fallback by one hour. He gave us a map of Marvao with the highlights - that was helpful.

What a wonderful and cozy place! The hosts were simply amazing: warm, welcoming, generous, and easy to reach. Finding the place and getting settled was a breeze. The view of Marvão is stunning, and the serenity is so refreshing for those of us used to (and tired of) the noise of the city. All you can hear are the stream trickling nearby and the cowbells in the distance.

This is a highly organised property. It must have been an old farm house or similar and the owners decided to put it to a new use and turned it into three accommodations. And one can see they really gave it a lot of thought and did it properly, starting with the kitchen and the bathroom and then the stable mosquito netting and to top it all a central vacuum system! I've never seen one in any hotel or B&B or anywhere before. Great going! If I need to visit the area again, that's where I'm going.

Beautiful home, incredible view and a wonderful hostess. It's a place you can cool offer a hot day in the pool, watch the sunset, cuddle with dogs and cats and have a peaceful night's sleep. Love the breakfast too- and thankful our hostess could move the time a little earlier so we could get to our Rail Hike on time.

The room is very clean and the location is amazing. We normally stay here when visiting Marvao as it is good value for money. It’s not luxury and the fixture and fittings could be nicer but you get what you pay for. It’s comfortable and the staff is very friendly. We will come back in the future.
We arrived at Casa do Vale for one night, mainly to see the forts in the nearby town. This is a rural and isolated accommodation complex, very quiet, clean and well-kept, the owner of the property helped us a lot to find the place, the rooms were beautiful and well-decorated. The complex has a pool, but it was too cold to go in and the valley where the complex is located is simply picturesque and stunning. warmly recommended.

The idyllic peaceful rural location on a working farm with sheep with bells. Jose was a delightful host and the breakfasts were excellent.
Our room was spacious and the traditional stone building was nice and cool and the pool was great for cooling off. The bed was very comfortable.
There were some nice restaurants about half an hour's walk away and nearby Marvao is well worth a visit. We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed it very much. It is great if you are looking for peace and quiet.
Perfect location in the town, quiet but close to everything. Beautiful house and our room had a wonderful view of the countryside. Simple and efficient check-in. The main tip is to park early once you enter the city and walk the last bit.
Very friendly and helpful host. The rooms are clean and the garden is huge and great to walk around. They've got huge rocks on top of the hill in their garden which you can climb and see the sunset which is just breathtaking. Very peaceful and quiet at night. The pool is nice and so is the breakfast. We recommend this B&B!
