Casa do Vale turned out to be the best part of our family trip to the north of Portugal - what a happy coincidence!
We did a last minute booking for a place to stay near Peneda-Gerês National Park, and only found Casa do Vale, which is a bit far - 1 hour drive. And you know what? It was the best decision we've made. We were welcomed by the friendly brother and sister who own the place and who've been living in the village for generations. Even though there were some language barriers we got a lot of information from them about the area: The pure water running in the village that you can drink right off the fountain, the nearby lake "Barragem da Queimadela" - a must see!, the Boulder House, and so much more. The area is breathtaking.
As for the house - it's comfortable and clean, spacious and accessible (even accessible bathroom).
The fridge was generously filled with snacks, drinks and breakfast supplies, and fresh buns waited for us every morning on the door step.
I highly recommend staying there.
Beds are great, facilities are well kept, there's smart TV and A/C and parking places protected by a gate.
10/10 - can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful place to stay. The apartment was very spacious. It stayed cool in the heat. The outdoor seating was very comfortable. The facilities in the common areas, swimming pool, pool table, ping pong table, were great as well. The staff was great and extremely friendly, and the provided wine, cake, lemons and jam were all magnificent. All in all, it was a great place to wind down and also a good spot from which we could enjoy the National Park Peneda-Geres.

Small but pretty and cozy apartment near the town center of Guimaraes. There’s a huge free parking a few meters from the apartment, and it’s ten minutes from the town center and twenty from the castle on foot. The apartment is very well equipped, with a good sized kitchen and even a dish washing machine. We got an apartment which faced the inner courtyard, so it was also overly quiet (by the way, the structure’s road is a secondary one, so there is no traffic at all).

Hotel located in a tranquil vineyard setting. We were able to pick and take some of the many variety of fruits on the property. We enjoyed the quietness of being in the countryside only about 2km from Guimares.
