This lovely farmhouse type is just gorgeous, and the host Tania is wonderful, friendly, and extremely helpful. The surroundings at the foot of the old castle are just breathtaking with infinite views of the countryside. Breakfast prepared by Tania was one of the best breakfasts we had during our trip with a variety of breads, jams, fruits, juices, scrambled eggs etc.
We would go back to Castello do Rodrigo just to stay back and Casa Amendoeira.
Super super friendly host that makes you feel like at home. I would strongly recommend if you are in the region and want to sleep in a quiet local place.
The town provides a beautiful setting for the Casa. The building is very well appointed and comfortable. Wish we had stayed a second night, as the area provides a lot of really good hiking options. The quality of the breakfast was quite good.
