Despite the language barrier, as we do not speak Portuguese, we had no problem communicating. Our host Laura Mendes is a charming, attentive person who makes the best coffee in Portugal and a good breakfast. Her son who speaks English helped us when we arrived with all of the information. Provisions can be found in the village or close by at Orca, there is a small grocery and restaurant or there is the town of Lardosa not too far.

It was beautiful! The decor was amazing, comfortable and perfectly matched the mountain cottage vibes. The antiques and touches like homemade soap, bespoke lamps in the downstairs room, lavender wand on the radiators to fill the air with good smells, so many personal details! Idyllic country house surrounded by nature, calm and pure air plus amazing views. The staff was most attentive and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and charming. The breakfast was delicious and very generous served in a cozy and well appointed room. A short distance from the city but miles away from it all. Great place to rest, read, write, nature walks and photography. We loved the farm animals, especially the cat Sr Orelhas and the resident donkey Cacao.
