Breakfast every day is abundant, with local cheese, honey, bread, jams, local juice, tea and coffee. We were able to ask for some scrambled eggs though, as we don’t eat that many carbs usually.

Calheta d N maybe is the most beautiful and unspoiled village on Pico. The house is right in the middle of the village, you can walk to the 2 bars which have not seen gentrification or mass tourism and hopefully never will. The house has wonderful bedrooms with sea views, balcony and a nice terrace for sitting in the evening sun. Owner was very friendly and helpful. The house was very clean and very quiet, except for the evening concert of the shearwaters. We’ll be back.

Small, but beautiful stone house in the vineyards of Calheta. Very quiet - you can sleep and wake up to the sounds of shearwaters and other birds. Upstairs is the bedroom with a very comfortable mattress, downstairs are the bathroom, living room and a basic kitchen, offering all you need. Fast and reliable Wifi. Contact with the owner was quick, nice and professional.
It is a very nice house in a lovely and very peaceful village. The kitchen is well equipped and the washing machine with dryer is a big plus! The garden is lovely with so many comfy relaxation options. We had truly relaxing 6 nights in this lovely house. Amelie even provided us with a chair and bed for our 7 months old baby :-)
On arrival we received some local goods, the bread was sooooo delicious.
We really liked this part of Pico, but you have to have a car. A beautiful place to swim is just near by.
We loved the authenticity of the cottage with its fantastic views across the ocean. it’s in a quiet and calming area with lovely restaurants within a few kilometres drive away.
