This little guest house is off the beaten path in a lovely setting in the hills. We loved the owners, John and Margarida; they were so kind and helpful. We felt like guests in their home--which we were. We were able to use the washing machine to wash a week's worth of dirty clothes. The little house is not your average hotel room. It's a little guest house, clean and comfortable. Don't expect it to be modern; it feels more like a little farm house--like a lake cabin or something similar. It suited us so well. It had everything thing we needed. The grounds are lovely with a small swimming pool and views of the surrounding hills.

Miguel was an amazing host! Incredibly friendly and helpful. The place itself is very tranquil and well equipped. The pool and the roof terrace were absolutely great. We found out too late Miguel also makes good cocktails, so a recommendation for when you get there, because you should go, no doubt.

Quinta do Freixo is a beautiful property in a stunning location. Rooms are spacious, quiet, clean and tastefully decorated, with amazing views on the nearby mountains. Very good wi-fi in the room. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh products. Staff is friendly and helpful. You can also buy products made on the farm (jams, dried fruits, honey etc). It was a great stay and we were sad we stayed only one night, will be back!
Beautifully renovated farm in the countryside, peaceful. Very tasty breakfast, very good products. Lots of hiking in the area. The swimming pool is really welcome considering the temperatures in Summer in this area. Visits are organized to discover the products of the farm.
