From the moment we entered Casa do Fontão, we were amazed by how beautiful the place is, inside and out. Our hostess was wonderful in making us feel welcome and well cared-for. We had a welcome cheese/wine/dessert that was a lovely surprise. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We spent some time on the back balcony watching a most gorgeous sunset from high on the hill. Breakfast was spectacular too. Wonderful place to stay!

Second time here, the place is absolutely amazing. Huge property surrounded by vineyards, beautiful old main house full of history (there’s even a chapel inside), plus three separate villas. We stayed in the main building and were lucky to be the only people there on a rainy Monday and Tuesday in October. It felt like visiting family in the countryside. There is a garden and all the fruit and vegetables come from there, everything we ate (and we ate a lot) was amazingly fresh and tasty. Fernanda, the hostess/chef/housekeeper is such a lovely warm and genuine person, she’s definitely what sets this place apart from other similar places. Make sure to book a dinner there! We are already planning our next visit.

We loved our stay and only wish we stayed longer! The location is beautiful, and the rooms are very comfortable. We enjoyed a picnic dinner, a bottle of wine and breakfast during our stay. We hope to come back soon!

The whole stay was so beautiful. A really exceptional space - the owners are incredibly kind, the vineyard views are gorgeous and I'd recommend the whole experience to fans of being out in nature, and unique experiences.

We got the tree house and just loved it. We went on a weekday in May and the place was empty and super quiet. All we could hear were birds singing. I don1t know if it is that good when the place is busier. The pool was great and the room super comfy and clean.

Great central location overlooking the river and near the São Gonçalo cathedral, peaceful. We loved Amarente, the river beach nearby was lovely for a swim. Casa Heredio was a great recommendation.

In general we liked everything, the place in the countryside with nicely renovated old farmhouses, the house was nice and quiet and the bed fanstastic we slept like never before. My husband suffer from allergies and they completely disappered the first day her so the environment must be very good.
