This was my sixth hotel in Nuwara Eliya this trip, and by far the best. The location's good, it's quiet and the rooms are spacious. The beds are long enough for tall people and the mattresses and pillows are comfortable. The showers are hot and a radio plays 70s and 80s music. The manager speaks excellent English and the price is extremely cheap - but the hotel's much better than its similarly priced competitors The Haven, where I've stayed, and Green Villa, which is on a busy road miles away from the town centre, in my opinion.
Located just 4.4 km from Gregory Lake, Samri Holiday Bunglow features accommodation in Nuwara Eliya with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as a 24-hour front desk.

Since we wanted to leave early, we asked for an early breakfast at 6:30. This was possible! The lovely Sri Lanka man was very helpful, that was great! The stay was lovely.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
I came here to rest before climbing Adam’s Peak. The owner picked me up from the railway station free of charge. He took me to Adam’s Peak for a very decent price and it was lovely coming back to a lovely breakfast made by his wife. Dinner was also great! The bed was comfy and the place is very quiet, also being a short walk to Hatton centre. He also offered a nice tour of Hatton area. I reccomend!
We were so well treated by the lovely staff at this wonderful guesthouse. The food was delicious. The rooms and lounge area are luxurious and so clean. Lots of hot water. A perfect location looking out on rolling hills of tea plantations but a short walk to Hatton. A beautiful garden and they can organise tours or lifts to suit you.
We stayed for three nights at trinish homestay and absolutely loved it! The owner is super friendly and so helpful. He picked us up from the train station and had dinner ready for us. The food was amazing. He took us to Adam’s Peak / Sri Padaya and waited there for us while we were hiking for 5 hours. The room is a bit old and damp but would 10 out of 10 recommend 😍
In a quiet area with great views over the tea plantations.. Nice staff. A hot water shower was much appreciated. You tend to get cold water showers in budget accommodation in Sri Lanka
I loved the room with a balcony and views of the tea plantations. I loved the staff. They were very attentive and present at all times. Very friendly and kind. I felt very pampered. And then, being able to walk through the tea fields was a real luxury. The food was delicious and homemade.
The location was great. Very calm and quiet place, but located on the roadside. Easily accessible using public transport.
The bed was comfy.
The caretaker was very attentive. Provided hot water to drink. Prepared and served tea whenever I asked. Though they don't serve meals, he bought dinner for me from a nearby place.
The views were spectacular and totally unexpected. A very peaceful and quiet resort with very beautiful views. Amazing staff, location and facilities. Absolutely perfect!
Everything was absolutely perfect at this hotel: quiet and peaceful location with surrounding tea plantation, fresh air, excellent, very helpful and friendly staff (thank you Anjana for coordinating our stay), tuk tuk available on call, fantastic food with really royal breakfast and other meals too, we became addicted to your mixed seafood soup served with toasts. Definitely a place to stay longer than just two nights, ideal to experience slow travel.
