Such a beautiful, remote, relaxing accommodation option at the foot of Mount Aso in a very quiet area and away from tourists. The hosts were also so amazing, in displaying the ultimate in Japanese hospitality. The stroll to Takezaki Spring was the most zen thing I have done on this trip (9th visit). You can have a choice of a bed or futon.
Our host was incredibly welcoming and the other guests really respectful so we felt right at home. The location was ideal for visiting hiking spots nearby. There was the possibility to do laundry which we really appreciated and there is a good yakiniku restaurant nearby (our host even kindly drove us there and brought us back).
It was very peaceful with a wonderful view of Mount Aso. At night, you can enjoy lots of stars.
The couple is very nice and caring with the supply of night light, tea, coffee or chocolate powder to make hot drinks, and remove all those ice on the car window, etc.
They also provided us with detailed map and photos on how to drive to Wakka.
Even though we did not order breakfast, they make us rice dumplings when we check out which is very nice of them.
Pleasantly surprised. Direct bus from Kumamoto. Peaceful shrine/pond close by that was very relaxing. Good kitchen and the host was superb and even showed me his favourite spot to view Mount Aso. Would come back in the summer
The mansionette fits 5 pax and it’s ideal for the family. The heated floor was good as we were all warm during the winter. We totally love the stargazing tour.
The room literally has everything you need. Private scenic view from the bath and the room. Very peaceful countryside. Had a really good sleep. The host was friendly and welcoming.
Compact yet functional rooms with a small kitchen area for light meal preparation, great views of the mountain, peaceful and quiet surrounding, we love the back to the nature stay! A big plus is that the owners are very warm and friendly, we are able to communicate in simple English, highly recommended if you're travelling in Aso!
