Staff super friendly. We had booked a room for 4, and they gave us 2 rooms of 2 instead, which was great. The Hostel is very big, with a very large room with billiard, table tennis and other games which was great, especially travelling with teenagers. It was very quiet, so we slept really well. Lots of cooking space. Price was very reasonable.
The location was wonderful - in Selfoss, a stone's throw from a beach and a short drive from a variety of awesome places, such as Thingvelir National Park and several geothermal parks. The flat was clean with lots of windows and a hot tub that was the perfect end to every hiking day. The beds were comfortable with the European-style duvets. The owners were communicative, friendly, and welcoming.
We arrived quite late (23:30) and the check in was really easy, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet. The common rooms and the kitchen were clean and had everything you need for a stay. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Sometimes the hostel owner organizes cultural events, when we slept there we were lucky to listen to a Canadian songwriter. The atmosphere was really nice - a perfect way to end our vacation on Iceland.:)
Communication with Kristinn was excellent and she replied promptly to my query ahead of our stay. The property itself is
located in a beautifully peaceful part of Iceland with stunning views over the North Atlantic Ocean from the balcony. My wife and I were staying here for 2 nights as part of a big birthday celebration for her and she was absolutely thrilled with it; couldn't recommend it more highly for anyone looking for a really comfortable stay away from the hustle and bustle of a major town. Thank you, Kristinn!
Good value. Nothing fancy and unpretentious. We all slept so well. The place is really quiet. The host was friendly and kind in the messages she sent. Of all the p,aces we stayed at in Iceland, this was the only one which charged a realistic price. Well done!
Very (very) well equipped and comfortable apartment, located near the beach in a quiet environment. The hot tub and large terrace added extra comfort. The owners were extremely helpful and nice for truly optimizing our stay. Once again, an outstanding place to stay in south iceland !
