Find the country houses that appeal to you the most
Looking for a country house?
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
Lovely little studio cottage but be warned it is very tiny . Great for couples/ families. Cabin was warm with radiators , comfy beds that look bit tired but are great, and nice fresh decor. and light ( windows in all directions).. This is a massive caravan site/ golf course/ restaurant complex . Also has kids playground. But still tons of space between cabins and great views - photos do not do justice. V quiet.
It was very nice and very quiet place with beautiful view to the country. We liked the breakfast. The beds were comfortable and large enough. Also the bathroom was large and comfortable. The were dark curtains that was very helpful during the summer time, so we can have the darkness for the quiet night sleep in the room.
I liked the location, how quiet it was, good wifi and surprisingly comfortable beds. The restaurant was excellent with a good choice of meals. Menu available online to check before stay. Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice for everyone, lactose free milk, soya milk much appreciated.
After much confusion with a lock box, the keys were eventually picked up from reception. The accommodation was in a good location to spot the Northern Lights (not many other properties around aside from the other cabins and the hostel/ camp site which was about 2 mins drive away). Neighbouring cabins were decently spaced apart (50-100m away) to allow for privacy and quiet.
This was a great stop after a long day of hiking and driving. The hotel is in a beautiful location, with nice views all around. The conditions for the aurora weren't right when we were there, but I'm sure that if the solar activity is high, you'd have spectacular Northern lights here!
We had a dinner in the restaurant (both the lamb and horse were good), and breakfast was good in the morning.
Nice little cottage, isolated but very cosy. Very good isolation of the chalet, it was very cold outside (-10c) but we were very warm inside.
No noise, no neighbours, very quiet and peaceful.
There’s also a bar/restaurant on the premises so you can always have a 2min walk and get nice food.
It's a beautiful beautiful place ... very nice and comfy. I was upgraded to a bigger cottage ..
It was perfecttttttt ... the location, the scenery, facilities ... it has windows all around so perfect for aurora watching with family...there's a complete guide to all facilties, it was quiet, peaceful ... It was raining else I'm sure I would've seen auroras dancing!
