This place is fantastic and I would highly recommend staying here. Great rooms that were very clean. Great pool and restaurant. The staff are lovely. The location is a little out of town but that is actually really nice as it was quiet and peaceful. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Awesome banana pancakes and good food. Great for kids and we had a room connected to theirs which was great.

Manaek is a lovely sweet woman who seems to run the place. She prepares breakfast and dinner for the guests and she always smiles. The people are always willing to help you, with transportation or tours etc. The homestay is next to beautiful traditional houses and located in between the rice fields with beautiful views. It is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful stay in nature, compared to the noisy city centre of Rantepao.

The staff were amazingly helpful … they let us check in early (4.30am!!!) and let us come back (after we’d left), to use one of their rooms to shower, after hiking … at no extra charge! SO kind! The rooms were basic, but adequate and excellent value for money! Very pretty hotel and excellent views!

Hospitality, kindness and willingness to help is second to none. The owners made my stay feel at home. Ibra is a fantastic host, he serves delicious breakfasts and the whole space is very homey and welcoming. And it is located in a beautiful quiet area very close to Torajan attractions. On top of that I was helped with my bus ticket back to Makassar. I am absolutely grateful for having stayed in such a wonderful place and if I am in Sulawesi again I will surely come back.

We had a great stay in the traditional house. Mama Valen and her family are very welcoming and friendly and helped us find a good guide and motorbike/scooter for our stay in Tana Toraja. It’s a 10-15 minute bike ride from Rantepao center which made it very quiet and peaceful. The food was excellent!

Staying in a tongkonan is a once in a lifetime experience, Aldi and his family do their best to make sure you have a pleasant stay in their homestay, i had a good time. This special place is not far from Rantepao, but in the countryside, so the atmophere is quiet and relaxed, i even had the chance to have real indonesian/toraja dinner and breakfast with them. You can also have a glimpse of real toraja life when they show you how they feed their animals or collect the local beverage from the trees.
