Breakfast was wonderful. Many choices, unlimited coffee and we as vegetarians were very well catered for. Superb. Hosts very kindly also helped me charge our hybrid car with their on site electric car charging point when we experienced some difficulty. Thank you.

We liked everything about this stay. It was really peaceful and relaxing, the location was simply beautiful with a picturesque scene from every window. Loved the big roll top bath, the bed and pillows were unbelievably comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning which was delicious and again the setting for breakfast was bliss. Dawn could not have been more welcoming and we really hope to go back.

A lovely house and location. The interiors have been decorated with an artistic, inventive and tasteful eye. Our very large room was extremely comfortable and looked out on a beautiful garden. The two members of staff we met were both warmly welcoming, thoughtful and charming. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The price was startlingly low. We'll certainly be back!

Sladen Lodge, hotel in Buxton

Sladen Lodge is situated in Hathersage, 15 km from Chatsworth House, 23 km from Utilita Arena Sheffield, and 25 km from Buxton Opera House.

A beautiful property, clearly refurbished in the last few years as everything looked freshly painted and new - the bathroom especially looked brilliant. The host was really friendly and served a lovely breakfast on both days, giving us recommendations of places to visit whilst we’re there, and I loved the little touches of tea/coffee/sugar pots in our room - even better that the coffee was the same as I use at home! The view from our room was incredible, I can’t recommend it enough.

Lynn and Pete were first class hosts and the breakfast that they provided was amazing. Each morning my brother and I were treated to an array of freshly prepared fruit and cereal, followed by a hearty full English breakfast which was made to order. The barn is set in an idyllic location, surrounded by peaceful countryside. The room and bathroom were very clean and the shower was excellent.

Beautiful accommodation, felt very luxurious and a real treat to stay somewhere different. Near town so can walk to pubs, shops but beautiful countryside also close by. Handy too to have an enclosed garden for the dog.

The apartment was clean & cosy, equipped with all the essentials and some nice touches like tea, coffee and fresh milk in the fridge on arrival (thank you!). We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again. Great communication, clear instructions from the host; self check-in. Allocated free parking in a courtyard, great view. Quiet neighbourhood (though you can hear every move from upstairs). Conveniently located, all our hiking routes were within 10-25 min drive and there's an Aldi nearby to fuel your activities.

Situated in a quiet and peaceful area of Buxton with space to park our car in the grounds. The room had everything we needed and included extras such as fresh milk in a flask , perfect for our first cup of tea. Quality toiletries were a bonus as were a good selection of tea bags. Friendly and hospitable host who provided a delicious breakfast.

Lindsay made us feel extremely welcome, letting us park on the drive and showing us all the facilities, as well as giving us useful tips on parking in the town. The bed is spacious and really comfortable. The built-in kitchenette is very compact but has everything you need, including microwave with grill which was handy for toasting bread. This was a great little place to stay, quiet and self-contained, with nice views of open countryside, but only 5 minutes' drive into the middle of Buxton. Highly recommended.
