Wow. It took this dedicated family 30 years to renovate this Gothic castle, and the results are a m a z i n g .
If you want to step back in time and pretend you are living in the Kingdom of Aragon in the medieval era, stay here. The smoke marks from the original kitchen are still present and many of the original 11th-14th century spaces restored. The host, Elena, shared the whole fascinating story.
You will find yourself in the middle of the country in a small village (80 inhabitants), yet be comfortable. A perfect stop if travelling north east - south east.
Elena and her family have done a sterling job to keep the historical integrity of this castle, complete with cats!, and the (contemporary) rooms all have a personality as deep and warm as the owners.
We felt like we were welcomed into a home, complete with roof terrace and medieval nooks and crannies with a wealth of history on display. Our photo shows the view from the parapets on the rooftop of a storm that passed whilst we were there - rare and quite an experience.

Everything! Staying the night in the castle ‘jail’ - we were given this amazing double room which actually had 2 double beds due to a cancellation. The beautiful location, the wonderful home made bread for breakfast, the kindness shown to us and our dog, the informative and very funny castle tour.
Casa Piedralen is midway between Logroño and Zaragoza, in the mountain village of Cervera del Río Alhama. Set in gardens. All rooms are heated and feature sloped ceilings and tiled floors.

The residence consists of 2 houses, one large and the other small each with their own allotted gardens, pool and seating areas. We had the smaller house but, as no one was in the larger house we had the run of all the grounds. The style of the owners is very quirky and eclectic which comes over particularly in the garden areas. The owners spend a lot of time trying to maintain the garden areas which is a massive task and they are beginning to look a little jaded, but still quirky.
The areas and towns around the locality are stunning and very much worth visiting.
A recently renovated country house in Torrellas and within 45 km of Sendaviva Park, Casa Rural Hospital de las Palabras has a terrace, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi.

Good place to stay at, very clean, very kind stuff/owner. Lovely little charming village where you stay. Daily needs you can reach easy within 5 min by car.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
A new renovated house with more than 270 years history, beautiful , spacious, clean, quiet, full equipped kitchen, big terrace.
We had the room faced to east, so we had beautiful view and sunrise everyday. We were the only guests but felt safe in such big house.

Hosts were very friendly. They left all we need at the kitchen.
We will stay again if we visit around Moncayo and around again.
The owners were really friendly and available for everything. A countryside place to relax.
