The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes located in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, like trekking, bird watching, and cycling.
We really enjoyed the lovely peaceful bush setting at San Rafael Ecolodge which provided for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The facilities were spotless and the service was great. Many thanks to both our hosts
The owner and staff were very attentive and really seem passionate about their hotel as well as their country. They have built an amazing, beautiful and quiet oasis amongt the adjacent jungle.
Our villa, with two bedrooms was spacious and clean with a balcony looking straight into the jungle.
The food we had was very good and the staff are always very happy to help with any request. This was exactly the type of ecolodge we wanted to stay in when we visited Costa Rica.
Gianni and his team of staff are so friendly. Amazing helpful and nothing was too much trouble, even providing us a packed lunch for one of our tours. Breakfast and evening were delicious. A mini oasis of quiet & calm.
excellent, quiet location, beautiful gardens and property. Villas were spacious, maximised the rainforest feel with large windows in the bedrooms. Giovanni was a superb host, his breakfasts were amazing next to the pool, his warm welcome was appreciated. He helped book many activities (canopy, thermal hot springs, mistico hanging bridges, cacao farm tour). could not recommend more! stay here and support this small business!
The property is in a really nice and quiet location. The owner Giovani is really warm and very attentive, making us feel very welcomed and comfortable. It was a great stay!
We are so happy we booked at the EcoLodge over Christmas. The owners are super helpful and accomodating, the meals were delicious, and the property is gorgeous. The rooms are in a lovely bit of jungle with waterfalls. It is very peaceful and the owners helped us arrange transport and a trip to the hotsprings. For the more adventurous, it is possible to take the bus to La Fortuna and back. The new fiberoptic wifi is incredible.
Best night sleep we had in Costa Rica. Area is quiet and has a nice garden / patio to sit. We chose to stay here in stead of La Fortuna which is more touristic. Pool is nice and cold after a warm day. Luis made sure we had everything we could of needed. Breakfast was great!!
Had some nice dinners at a soda and there’s a great pizza place nearby. For us it was a excellent stay at the end of our Costa Rica trip.
