Such a lovely, quiet location! It's perfect for families, especially if you have pets and want to stay a mile or two outside of the city. We had a very comfortable two bedroom with several patios. The pool is heated and provides a perfect space to spend an afternoon. Our dog, Maddi, was welcomed and able to go everywhere, which is such a rarity for hotels in Portugal. Breakfast was consistently delicious during our stay. My husband had the pork cheeks for dinner via room service and was very impressed! Thank you to the owners for creating such a lovely space for us to stay.

Boasting garden views, Monte da Isabel offers accommodation with patio, around 20 km from Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. Absolutely perfect! Stunning setting. Spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable. Very friendly host (Isabel) - who even phoned her son in law to translate for us. It could not have been better at the end of a long day’s walk on the Rota Vicentina. Isabel also provided delicious supper at the Casa Fonseca up the road, and a huge breakfast!

À Espera - Turismo Rural, Melides in Melides provides adults-only accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. The service was excellent! the hostess, mrs Gaspar, was really kind to us and made our stay at a Espera the most memorable experience we will ever have in Portugal. We will hopefully visit this wonderful place again.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, A Janela Do Castelo is situated in Monsaraz. It was such a privilege to stay right in the heart of a beautiful medieval village. The property is outstanding. Heaps of space, extremely well appointed, especially if you want to cook your own meals. And why not when the views from your terrace are so picturesque. Our host provided lots of helpful information in advance and responded promptly to our questions. The bed was very comfortable and there was zero noise at night so sleep was a breeze. Make sure you follow the advice to drive to the property exactly so you don’t end up down a narrow back street.
