And actually we regretted we didn’t book more time to spend there. Very cosy house, situated on a small hill, in a beautiful, quiet area, very close to National park. We took the occasion to go and visit local watchtower located few minutes walk from the place. Comfortable beds and cool interior, terrace with sofa to rest in and enjoy the view. In a separate building - nice kitchen with appliances and practical bathroom, all made the stay very nice. A bonus is a small garden with outside furnishing. You can find fruit trees there :D Own parking slot below the building. And the owners :) magnificent contact! We had some troubles with finding the address, because we were tired after travel and it was a very late hour. We were chatting in English and then in German and we were given complete instructions, support. Owners’ approach reduced the stress and made the stay even better! Thank you again, so much!

I recently stayed at this fully refurbished cottage in Varvolgy, near Lake Balaton, and had a wonderfully relaxing experience. The cottage is beautifully restored, blending modern comforts with rustic charm. Everything was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness really stood out. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you might need, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay. The highlight for me was the spacious, well-maintained garden and the lovely terrace—perfect for enjoying the tranquility of this rural setting. The location is ideal if you're looking for a peaceful getaway, far from the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough to explore the beauty of Lake Balaton. It’s a true escape into the countryside, offering all the quiet and privacy you could want. The only downside was that the bathroom and toilet doors couldn't be locked, which might be a concern for some guests. Overall, it’s a great spot for those who appreciate nature and want to experience the typical rural lifestyle in Hungary. Despite the minor inconvenience, I would definitely recommend this cottage for a serene countryside retreat near Lake Balaton.

It's got more than you need, and the communication with the host is super easy. The area is incredibly quiet, and it's a jump away from the heart of the town and less than a 5-minute walk to the enchanting woods.
