I always go to Skye for my birthday for a few days and had never been to the Elgol part of the island. I know the island and the climate quite well so was expecting pretty much anything and everything. I booked this because of the view and it absolutely did not disappoint! The day of my birthday was gloriously sunny and I sat with a lovely glass of chilled champagne, looking at that view in the afternoon. It is absolutely idyllic and even the word perfect isn't good enough. The bed was so comfortable I slept a FULL 8 hours uninterrupted and then had coffee in bed with that view too. The shower was fabulous and the towels were spot on. The little toilet with the ever-so-cute wash hand basin was like stepping into a little bit of Hobbiton haha. So quirky and wonderful. Dishwasher was handy on the last day when you are rushing to check out The day after my birthday was quite stormy so lighting the fire and enjoying the rest of my champagne in the cosy atmospheric cabin was just absolutely perfect. Sunshine or storm I couldn't fault any part of it. The finishing bit of "polish" on the whole thing was the little hip flask of whisky which I suspect was Talisker (which I happen to love) that was there on arrival was the cherry on top of the cake so to speak. This place hasn't been open that long for bookings relatively speaking but it is already booked up for most of the year and you can absolutely see why. So I found a slot in the summer where there's the obvious more daylight hours and sunsets and booked again it was so good. It really is that lovely!!!

Boasting a garden and views of river, AURORA rural RETREATs is a recently renovated chalet situated in Glendale, 18 km from Dunvegan Castle. Cozy cabin, nice interior, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, warm and a car park. Host left a bottle of wine and signed post card - very kind!

The Cabins - House of Juniper, a property with a bar, is set in Broadford, 14 km from Kyle of Lochalsh, 27 km from Eilean Donan Castle, as well as 26 km from Museum of the Isles. Everything was to a high standard.very clean with comfy bed/pillows.Location was just perfect ,whether you wanted to eat at the restaurant or walk to other places in Broadford .Nice and quiet.

Situated in Earlish and only 44 km from Dunvegan Castle, Allt Yelkie Pod Coig, Earlish features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. This chalet features a garden. Loved every little bit of it. It is charming, super comfy, had everything you need. Hosts are very helpful and answer fast. Locations os very good to visit major touristic spots in the Island. We had a minor problem with the shower the night before we left. they promptly reply, and went to check even being over 10pm. Unfortunately it was impossible to fix that night, and we left super early next day but they offer us plenty solutions for next morning.

Set in Ose, within 14 km of Dunvegan Castle, Ose Pod, an ever changing view to the sea is an accommodation offering garden views. This chalet offers barbecue facilities. Warm place with well eqiupped, pod has everything you want. The owner is so friendly and helpful. The location is the best, just next to the sea and a lot of sheeps around.

Set in Tole and only 30 km from Dunvegan Castle, Oor Neuk offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The whole house is designed perfectly and equipped with everything you would need during your stay. There is lot of space for bigger families or more couples and even boardgames for kids. The whole surrounding is magical, sheep and horses next to the house. You can reach everything on Skye from here. We were more than satisfied and would book again.

Set in Skeabost and only 26 km from Dunvegan Castle, Donmar Cottage offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property has garden views. Our first time visiting Skye, Donmar Cottage was a highlight. Lovely cottage in a beautiful neighbourhood. Great amenities. Washer and dryer were welcome two weeks into our road trip. Upon request, we were provided with a couple of excellent restaurant recommendations. We also picked up a few groceries in Portree, and with the well outfitted kitchen, enjoyed cooking for ourselves.

Providing a garden, An Traigh Cabin provides accommodation in Portree. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 40 km from Dunvegan Castle. Cute little cabin that has everything we needed. Private with a lovely area to sit at the end of the day. Directions a little tricky but once we found it we absolutely loved it. Hosts were both very helpful and friendly. Really nice to be a little way out of Portree. Highly recommend.
