Much much better than expected (after reading previous reviews). Cozy place, great neighbourhood! We were 5 people and the place was spacious enough. Be careful not to put all your suitcases and backpacks on the top floor bedroom, because there isnt much space on the floor! Cute backyard, nice place to relax. Spacious living room with some fun board games for you and your friends. All amenities we needed in the kitchen were provided. Hot water 24/7 with high pressure in the bath tub. Some people might not like the style of this historic house, but we liked it. Also it's 2 blocks away from the subway that goes to WTC in 7 minutes. All in all we had a great stay and we missed the place when we left.

We had a really nice stay here. Accommodation was warm and clean, with comfortable beds. Really well located with easy access to subway and shops / restaurants nearby (shout out to wheated which was delicious). Lot of space and nice cooking facilities with a large kitchen and tea/coffee complimentary.

The host is so friendly, the location is convenient (but not so safe), the house is clean, and the WIFI is stable. It is a cozy and comfortable house. We will recommend it if you are not a foreigner.
To be honest, at the beginning, we thought the host will be a guy (the picture showing on her email profile seems to be xd), so we were a bit worried since we did not notice the host will stay in the same house downstairs before we booked it. But, with her kind explanation about that, although we are using the same entrance for the front door, we actually have an independent door and flat that is completely separated! The most important thing is, since we are 2 girls, it is so nice when we notice the host is a she, and she is living with her mother, making us relieved when we arrived.

The location was good, Harlem was fun. Good sized room. Fairly close to subway, within walking distance. Good places to eat and drink close by. The local people were friendly and fun. Was fairly quiet in my room.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
I loved the vibes of Brooklyn, the kindness of the hosties always ready to fulfill tour expectations, the size of the room. This place is very welcoming and I enjoyed my stay at this charming house.

The staff at the Lodge are amazing. They went above and beyond my expectations. I had difficulty pre registering but the staff just did it for me and were so helpful. We left by taxi with a lot of luggage. The lady on the front desk ordered the taxi quickly and then helped us lift the luggage into the taxi.
The breakfast was wonderful, there was a lot of food and again the staff were attentive, cleaning down surfaces and refilling the food plates.
Nice way to stay in NY on a tight budget. Quiet and charming neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean enough and we felt safe and slept well. Located close to a subway station and it only took about 30 minutes to travel to Manhattan.
Smaller hotel (6 floors) but cozy and super clean room and facilities, well stocked bathrooms and lobby for extras of needed.

The Box House hotel pleasantly surprised me. The biggest advantages are the absolutely ideal location and reasonable price. The hotel has a cozy atmosphere, provides great amenities, the service is friendly, the rooms are standard, housekeeping works daily and the breakfasts are excellent! I will use this hotel again on my next visit to NYC.
One of the standout features was the breathtaking view from my room's window, offering a scenic panorama that added a touch of serenity to my stay.
The lobby area was particularly delightful, boasting a charming and inviting atmosphere. It was versatile enough to cater to various needs, from enjoying a relaxing drink to providing a comfortable space for work.
Additionally, the room comfort was top-notch, highlighted by an incredibly cozy bed that ensured a restful sleep, and a large TV that was perfect for unwinding after a long day.
