The most magical, amazing place! I have never been anywhere like this. We assumed the 57000sq ft was a typo, it's not! You have a whole vineyard & botanical garden- it felt like we had gone back in time and were staying in an Agatha Christie novel. It took us ages to walk the whole estate with its well tended terraces and gardens, it's all fenced so our dog loved free roaming all around. The pool and decking on the river is stunning for the afternoon & early evening sun (down several flights of stairs so take everything you need down with you). We had to pinch ourselves to believe it was all for us. The river cruises come past & wave in jealousy of the paradise you're staying in. You can even get into the river if you're brave from the jetty (though it's rather rickety & no ladder). Everywhere you look are different stunning views & another little area to sit & relax. We basically only went inside to sleep & only left once in our whole stay so bring all your food with you, you've got a huge choice of dining areas & an outdoor kitchen. André was super friendly & told us all we needed to know on arrival, even leaving us water, strawberries, wine & bread as a welcome. We were excited to be the first guests, we booked very last minute when my mum decided to extend her Portugal stay & what a find, total bargain! We didn't see another Quinta like it all the way up the Douro.

Amazing location with incredible view. House was super comfortable and well equipped. Very nice owner who was very helpfull, pleasant and has very cute two dogs! Acommodation is very nice, well furnished, with kitchen, nice bathroom, large bed and beautifull terrace with the river view.

The host, Mr. Antonio I believe, was super welcoming and told us about the historuy of the house and how much love he put into rebuilding it. The room that we stayed in was just superb, really cozy and well decorated.

The kind caretakers Manuel and his beautiful wife who baked and left us a huge delicious cake) greeted us on arrival and shared some excellent restaurant recommendations via Google translate ( you couldn’t ask for a better greeting)
The clean comfortable roomy villa. we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, some port and a few options for breakfast. It was warm and cosy. The best I've stayed in in Portugal.

The kindest and most welcoming hosts I have ever met! created the atmosphere to connect with other guests in a very gentle, cosy and fun way. The food was fresh with many ingredients from the garden. It is styled and decorated to the finest smallest details; everything is designed to allow you to relax.
Beyond the fact that the place was clean and cozy and beautifully decorated, I want to praise the host Maria who gave us service above all expectations. We stayed at the place for one night but she continued to accompany us throughout the trip in the Douro Valley and to recommend other places. This is one of the best hosting experiences I've had and she did it in such a calm and pleasant tone!
The property is an idyllic hideaway with amazing views of the Douro. The accommodation is charming and the host, Maria, is delightful and so helpful, she even looked after our dogs for us so that we could go on a river boat trip. We loved Casa do Moleiro and stayed an extra night because we were so happy there.We will definitely return.
