We had rented a house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was perfect for our little group. The location is excellent, close to the city centre but still very calm and peaceful. The park-like garden is beautiful and the entire hotel is very well kept. All my questions were promptly answered prior to our trip and we received a very warm welcome from the hosts Mr. Jose and Mr Hugo who took very good care of us during our stay. Mr Jose helped with taxi reservations and recommended excursion options as well as a great restaurant for New Year s Eve. The fridge was filled with breakfast provisions and every morning fresh bread and pastries were delivered. The house was very nice and clean and we had everything we needed; the heatings system also worked very well. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to visit again.

Very well maintained property in a quiet place. Beautiful surroundings. Hosts were exceptional. Never met such sweet hosts. They went out of their way and specially brought one Indian flag to be kept on dining table reserved for us. Would definitely like to go back. Highly recommended for people with car.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious with everything needed for our stay. While not actually in Guimaraes we used Uber (Bolt also available) to get to the town for just 5 Euros each way, which gave us a welcome break from driving. Although on quite a busy road, inside the apartment was peaceful and quiet. The host was easy to communicate with and excellent in answering any questions we had. All in all this was a very good place to stay.

Small but pretty and cozy apartment near the town center of Guimaraes. There’s a huge free parking a few meters from the apartment, and it’s ten minutes from the town center and twenty from the castle on foot. The apartment is very well equipped, with a good sized kitchen and even a dish washing machine. We got an apartment which faced the inner courtyard, so it was also overly quiet (by the way, the structure’s road is a secondary one, so there is no traffic at all).
Excellent location, very cozy place with a lot of history. Very spacious and cozy apartment with everything you need. Clean, lovely and practical at the same time. The breakfast basket completely convinced us. In addition, good communication with the landlady and good tips for the stay. Both the city and the apartment are definitely worth a stay.
What a wonderful house on a prime location in the center of town which even has a private parking space in just 2 mins walking. We could park in front of the house to get our luggage out, and then go to the parking, perfect. It's very cosy inside and everything you need is there. There's even a small outside space where we've enjoyed the evening warmth. We very much recommend this house, for families, with or without young children, for couples. We think everyone would enjoy this.
Trovador Guest House (in fact three guesthouses on the same little square) is a few minutes walk from Guimarães' beautiful and nice historic centre and around the corner of the Unesco-worldheritage Couros-neighbourhood, in restored old buildings that are well renovated and have all the comfort you can think of.
The room was nice. The view from the top floor bar/breakfast are is great. It's 20 minutes walk from the beautiful city centre and it's very easy to find and only a short distance from the A3 highway.
We needed to stop by the supermarket for some supplies before driving to a holiday cottage elsewhere and there is a supermarket 5 minutes walk or 2 minutes drive from the hotel.
Quinta da Cancela is an amazing place. First of all, the location is beautiful, with vinyards all around, a big lush garden, and a small pool. Then, our room was charming snd cos, And finally, Arthur, our host, was so welcoming and generous with advice regarding the area, with his explanations about wine production and the wine industry, and his heritage stories. We enjoyed his wines as well. Highly recommemded!!!

Very narrow, 4 floors - top floor had a bedroom + a bathroom, so full privacy for my adult son - he appreciated that very much.
It was an experience in itself staying in such a special, traditional house; it definitely added extra value to our holiday.
3 balconies and a back yard with a very cozy, covered sitting area - I loved having my morning tea there.

The territory of the hotel is amazing!! Totally worth to walk around. The hotel itself is like a museum too) The personnel speaks English (that is rare in Portugal) and very polite. The bar with fireplace at cool night is very cozy and quiet. In the room we found chocolates, some fruit and flowers - so many nice surprises)) We could see the whole city from above from our room window on the 5th floor - amazing view! I absolutely loved the hotel)
Beyond my expectations. The self check in was smoothless and I found the house charming and super clean. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was even a coffee machine with pods. I like the furniture and the candle smell in the air because they make the place so cozy.
Its position also makes it very easy to walk to the bus station and the castle.
