Everything was wonderful, the host Mara and her son Dante were the most hospitable and wonderful people. Sormano is a lovely picturesque village high up in the mountains, perfect for a getaway. The breakfast was plentiful and the homemade cakes were delightful.

This is a very special place, unlike your average Hotel in the village. La Selvaggia is at the upper end of Mandello in the middle of the beautiful nature away from everything - almost like a mountain hut. We were in Mandello for the Moto Guzzi Festival and we really enjoyed being able to get away from all of the people and the noise when going back to the hotel in the evening. The property is very well kept and there is a beautiful pool as well. You can see in everything that this is an owner run family business. It's just got this family touch. We only got to meet Vanessa and she was super nice.
While we liked the fact that this place is a bit remote, it might not be right for everyone. It's a 7-8 minute walk from the parking up to the hotel on a nature path. Nothing crazy and a lovely walk but if you are not so stable on your feet, it's not ideal. Vanessa will be happy to offer you and your luggage a lift between the parking and the hotel (quite an experience) but of course she can't do it every time you come/go.

Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Everything was perfect. Great location. Perfectly clean. Cozy apartments. Marco's hospitality is beyond praise. Even the TV was set to our native language, which later created problems for Marco to change the settings back.
We loved the place! It was very clean, nicely decorated, and super cozy. Francesca thought about everything: all kitchen appliances and even detailed usage instructions were provided. We loved the atmosphere, the peacefulness of the area, and the mountain view. The area was not filled with tourists and felt very authentic. Safe underground parking was a nice addition too.
The guests are extraordinary , the place has a lot of heritage , we came on a motorcycle and there was a parking space right in front of the gate, very clean and the breakfast was delicious.
When we arrived we were welcomed by the hostess and asked if we wanted something too drink, we were the brought to our room. The whole thing looked even beter the we expected and was very cozy.
In the morning we had an incredible breakfast with a bunch of home food, all of it was really good
The property is a beautiful oasis in the old town, homely and charmingly decorated. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and generous, and the homemade breakfast was delicious!
This place really exceeded our expectations. We have travelled quite a lot but we haven't seen anything like this before. You need to feel it by yourself! Charming, unique, historical B&B environment with a twist of art. Comfortable beds and cosy rooms, delicious breakfast. Our hosts were warm hearted and made us feel real wellcome during our stay in the lake-area. They treated us like we were good old friends for a long time. This all seemed though so natural and easy. Highly recommend ❤!
