I recently stayed at this fully refurbished cottage in Varvolgy, near Lake Balaton, and had a wonderfully relaxing experience. The cottage is beautifully restored, blending modern comforts with rustic charm. Everything was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness really stood out. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you might need, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay.
The highlight for me was the spacious, well-maintained garden and the lovely terrace—perfect for enjoying the tranquility of this rural setting. The location is ideal if you're looking for a peaceful getaway, far from the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough to explore the beauty of Lake Balaton. It’s a true escape into the countryside, offering all the quiet and privacy you could want. The only downside was that the bathroom and toilet doors couldn't be locked, which might be a concern for some guests.
Overall, it’s a great spot for those who appreciate nature and want to experience the typical rural lifestyle in Hungary. Despite the minor inconvenience, I would definitely recommend this cottage for a serene countryside retreat near Lake Balaton.

The accommodation was more than excellent. Very tastefully furnished rooms. It was pleasant to sleep in such a comfortable bed. Rooms clean and cozy. Breakfast great. Staff very friendly. Private parking is guaranteed. We were able to have motorcycles on our eyes as they were parked immediately below the balcony.
Accommodation to Lake Balaton is not far away, a kilometer walk. On the way to the lake, we came across a great restaurant where it is possible to eat perfectly at a moderate price.
The Owner is highly involved in making the stay as smooth as possible. Not to forget the location, walking distance to beach. Parking upto 3 cars inside. The house has a bery cozy vibe including the decor, grill place with outside seating area. I must mention the garden and many games for kids. Next time we will make sure to visit for a week.
Gorgeous pool at a lovely big house, I slept under the eaves in a cute cosy room with a sky light and trees out all the windows. Breakfast was great and the owner very welcoming. There's a couple of restaurants within 10-15mins walk but it's a little out of town, up the hill from the lake, it wasn't an issue for me but wouldn't be the most convenient spot without a car, if you are wanting to visit the lake.
Very cozy apartman with tasty breakfast. Everything was excellent. We enjoyed our holiday. The owner is very nice and helpful Thank's for the pleaser time.
The cabin is at a very quiet, almost hidden location. The interiors are very nicely designed, one can see that the owners carefully chose every single piece of decoration. We found the cabin perfectly clean and well-equipped and the hot tub in the garden was simply amazing. Our host was really nice and always available. I hope we’d be able to return one day :)
