The property was stunning and a very interesting architecture.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
A very interesting modern house with light, spacious rooms. A large, private roof terrace giving views over the garden and countryside made the bedroom a particularly pleasant place to relax. Breakfast was outstanding with top quality ingredients cooked to a high standard.
Our hostess Shirley was friendly and charming. She created a warm, welcoming atmosphere which made it very easy to feel 'at home'.
The house is located in a quiet village with easy access to many local and regional places of interest.
We had a lovely time in this charming home, though be aware that the age of the cottage means steep, narrow staircases to the room, which itself is low in places. There's no cooked breakfast option, but you don't need it. Sue's homemade granola, sourdough bread, jam and marmalade, as well as locally sourced croissants, will more than sustain you. Sue and Brendan are delightful hosts, happy to help make your stay the best it can be.
The Garden Room was a neat, comfortable and cosy little cottage in a quiet area of a country estate. It had all facilities we needed, good shower & bathroom, the bedroom was a lovely room although a little cramped for two people travelling with 2 large suitcases and backpacks. There was little room on each side of the bed to move around comfortably, however it would suit a single traveller with minimal luggage. The owners were helpful with information when required otherwise they left us to enjoy the lovely and quiet surrounds.
– Free EV charging is a major bonus at this location.
– Sauna is fantastic; 80°C is an excellent strong, temperature for spa frequenters like me.
– Breakfast was à la carte and quite generous; a branded Costa coffee was a nice surprise, too.
– I ended up in a 'cabin,' but it turned out to be a bonus; more secluded, peaceful, and enjoying sunrise views.
This is just the place to relax and enjoy without being too far from all the facilities of local towns and the countryside. The cottage was presented to a very high standard and there were many thoughtful extras such as milk, snacks and different drinks. You are very well centred for exploring the area or just being able to relax in a quiet rural retreat!
Lovely cottage. Helpful owners .Everything you need at the property and more. Great Agatha Christie theme throughout. Great location.2 mins walk into town. Good bus servies to Oxford and Henley. Would stay again if in the area. Definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed the fantastic views across the beautiful landscape and the wonderful wildlife. Especially the wild hare that ran across the front of our cabin. The views of the rising moon setting a wonderful bright light on the sky while keeping warm in the hot tub was amazing. An opportunity to leave London behind us and simply enjoy nature
Really quiet spa hotel. Really feel out of the way in the countryside. Spa small but has everything you need, was very relaxing. We had the place to ourselves on Sunday of a Bank Holiday weekend. Rooms in lodge modern and clean. Will come back a great escape from busy life.
Also, there are lots of free electrical car chargers that are not listed on booking.com, great for electric car drivers.
