Craigiehall Temple, hotel in Queensferry

Providing a garden, Craigiehall Temple offers accommodations in Edinburgh. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking, and free Wifi.

This location is just beautiful and the stuff of dreams. I happen to be an airplane enthusiast so the close proximity to EDI Airport was such a thrill. I spent the morning drinking coffee and watching the planes land and take off. For those of us old enough to remember, there was a restaurant chain called the 94th Aero Squadron at the edge of major airports. This is just like that but instead of a bombed out French farm house from WWI, this property is set back in time to 1795. If you stay, you have to do the river walk just across the field from the temple. James, the kind caretaker and resident gave me directions and boots are thoughtfully provided for a magical walk that can only be described and a scene out of a Hobbit film. There is a well worn path running along the river and you will meet towns folk and their lovely dogs enjoying the beauty. To the right of the property you will find the old bridge which is really stunning and still open to foot traffic. The bed is comfortable, the furnishing are grand and functional and every possible need or want was provided by these excellent hosts. I booked an extra day because of these reviews. Do yourself a favor and book 3 or 4 days!!! Dan and James, I am saving money to come back and spend a week!!! Thank you for a lifetime of memories made in just 2 days! (For those like us not traveling with a car, the cabs found us without any trouble and responded quickly! )

Wonderful, clean, and comfortable apartment. Great location close to everything we wanted to do/see. Also close to public transit and grocery stores, which was convenient! The hosts were very timely with answering any questions and have the apartment set up very nice. Next time we come to Scotland this will be the first place we look at availability!

We had a stylish spacious room over an old tavern (which they say Robert Louis Stevenson — the Treasure Island author — stayed in) with a nice little garden and own parking lot. It was equipped with everything we could wish for. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, the maze of corridors is charming. Having dinner just downstairs is very convenient.

A very cosy-posh house in a quaint area with lots of ice-cream parlours and picturesque view of the Forth Bridge. Kitchen was well equipped with treats like biscuits, chocolates, cereal and coffee options which my family enjoyed. Fresh roses on the dining table, bath robes like a 5 star hotel!

We booked the Hawes at Queensferry for special reasons and were not dissapointed. I made a mistake with my credit card information but the staff at reservations were curtious and helpful and it was sorted out very quickly.the hotel is actually a row of converted cottages and the character and charm of each cottage has been skillfully maintained within the hotel. Food was excellent, breakfast incredible!

We had a room with a view of the bridges and the Firth of Forth which was fabulous- worth asking for a room with view as back rooms don't look as good. Room spacious and clean. Bathroom extras poor for the price however. Bar is cosy.

I loved the old worldly feel of the hotel , so much the history sitting underneath this great bridge , where the views was breathtaking . The hotel retained its quaintness with cosy snugs with huge fireplaces a nice mix of old but with a very modern menu , the food was amazing and the staff were so attentive .
