The bothy is a lovely little cottage, right in the heart of the new forest,on the edge of Lyndhurst and on the edge of the open countryside with all that it offers. It is very near to the town centre but off the beaten track to be very quiet. The cottage itself has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
We love staying at Bartley Lodge as it’s a small cosy hotel with great staff and very well located for the New Forest. Dinner quality was great. Breakfast is lovely but could have a bit more variety.
It is a very lovely cottage with a nice garden and patio. Me and my husband had a wonderful time in Kingwood Cottage hosted by Christine and Paul. They both were very lovely and every morning we enjoyed our breakfast. Fresh and delicious especially the one with fly fished trout by Christine. The cottage is in such a mesmerising location and it was very clean and comfortable.
The location was lovely and peaceful. The cottage was very clean, everything that we required was provided. Had a washing machine and dishwasher, although we didn't use either. Property was also very warm and cosy.
Travelled for work and ended up having to extend my stay for nearly a week. Staff are all extremely friendly and more than happy to help (especially Wendy at reception). Great location with stunning countryside on the doorstep, I would love to come back when not working and see a bit more of the New Forrest. Cosy bar and the food was great.
Only comment would be the breakfast options before 8am are pretty limited. Great cooked breakfast after 8 but unfortunately I missed this almost every day.
People bring buildings to life. Wonderful staff, exceptionally warm, friendly, yet above all professional service combined with an excellent menu, roaring fire, and wonderful location.
My room was perfect; was indeed cosy, warm and hugely comfortable. Food and drink were well above excellent; and breakfast was wonderful. All in all, absolutely recommend. This is a charming hotel situated amidst some of England’s finest open countryside with inspiring walks around the villages and neighbouring estate grounds. All in all, just perfect.
