This was a perfect base for our stay in the Lake District. The hotel is charming and staff were friendly. Breakfast was huge and delicious. The absolute highlight was the daily cream tea with scones. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is an older, quaint property (and we loved that) which was well stiuatated, lovley view with nice grounds and sections of woods along a beck / creek to walk. Staff were outstanding, food was excellent, the room was comforatable and honestly my wife and I felt that of all the hotels we stayed in (similar to this) on our trip, this was by far the best. Having read some of the reviews that complained that rooms were a bit "run down" well honestly you could go to a modern hotel if you want all new, this is an older property, and its well looked after but it is old. However we had absolutely no complaints and nothing bad to say.

Excellent location, clean, and comfortable. The house had many little details that made it special. The rooms were cozy, the bathroom was new and very nice, the kitchen had all we needed, and there were several food items to get us started (coffee pods, milk, chocolate, sweets). Great location from which to walk around Bowness-on-Windermere. Highly recommended for families.
Cottages are perfect for travelers who enjoy feeling cozy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages are spread across one or two floors – making them great for families or vacations with a little more privacy.

Great location, comfy beds, cosy room. Restaurant and bar downstairs very nice. Sauna, pool and gym included in the hotel. Also very handy was the drying room for all our gear.
This was a last minute booking after having to check out of a minging holiday cottage. We went to the hotel much earlier than checkin time and they were amazing. They checked if our room was ready and let us checkin early and get a shower.
This hotel is so welcoming and all the staff from reception, bar and restaurant were the best. Our breakfast service was great too as were our evening meals which were cooked to perfection 🥰
Thank you to everyone who helped to rescue our long weekend. We can't wait to return
This is a well-appointed, cosy, cottage style apartment, set in beautiful grounds. The hosts have anticipated every eventuality. Everything you could possibly need for comfort is provided., but it is the little things that bring us back here time after time. The welcome message, the miilk in the fridge on arrival, the cheerful flowers and the lovely gift of wine, all add to the experience, and make The Old Coach House the perfect place to stay.
The property was situated in the middle of grasmere village and was perfect for us to get around. It was a really cosy lodge and everything was an easy process such as check-in, arranging breakfast for the following morning and getting in the property after being out.
We stayed in the cottage it was cosy very clean and warm as it was very snowy outside .
The underfloor heating in bathroom was lovely
The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
We would definitely stay here again
Really great location in Grasmere, the room we had was a loft conversion with lovely beams, stylish yet cosy. We used the bath tub each evening- there’s room for two! So ideal for a romantic get away. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed a lovely walk into the mountains, excellent place to start your walks and come back to relax in the tub. The staff / owners were lovely and returned a torch we forgot really quickly to us! Would definitely return for another weekend in the Lakes.
