This location is just beautiful and the stuff of dreams. I happen to be an airplane enthusiast so the close proximity to EDI Airport was such a thrill. I spent the morning drinking coffee and watching the planes land and take off. For those of us old enough to remember, there was a restaurant chain called the 94th Aero Squadron at the edge of major airports. This is just like that but instead of a bombed out French farm house from WWI, this property is set back in time to 1795. If you stay, you have to do the river walk just across the field from the temple. James, the kind caretaker and resident gave me directions and boots are thoughtfully provided for a magical walk that can only be described and a scene out of a Hobbit film. There is a well worn path running along the river and you will meet towns folk and their lovely dogs enjoying the beauty. To the right of the property you will find the old bridge which is really stunning and still open to foot traffic.
The bed is comfortable, the furnishing are grand and functional and every possible need or want was provided by these excellent hosts. I booked an extra day because of these reviews. Do yourself a favor and book 3 or 4 days!!! Dan and James, I am saving money to come back and spend a week!!! Thank you for a lifetime of memories made in just 2 days!

We can highly recommend this cottage which is really cosy, comfortable and quiet. Easy access to the bus or train station within a 10 minutes walk. Shopping facilities nearby. Questions were answered directly. We had a great time here.
The hotel has a charming, cosy interior full of warm colours. The livingroon with honesty bar and fire place was very a pleasant and romantic addition. The scottisch breakfast was great and more than enough! The staff was very helpfull and friendly.
The house is very elegant, every object, including the breakfast table lay out was exquisite, the fresh flowers, the candles, the pottery...May and David really went out of their way at breakfast time, plus they helped us with our heavy luggage and made us feel very looked after.
We had the small room, that if you do not have much luggage is delighfully cozy and romantic. My friends had room n.3 and it was simply perfect. The location is the truly added bonus, not only charming and elegant but close to everything.
The cottage is lovely. The kitchen cupboards are a bit tired compared to the rest of the property but that is just a small point. The cottage is fab and the sauna and hot tub are brill. The deer in the field were a joy to behold and the lights of the airport runway were spectacular at night.
Lindean cottage is very authentic place, where you feel yourself more a citizen than visitor of Edinburgh. There are a lot of place to sleep for a family or a company and on top of it spacious kitchen/living room with a fireplace. Dry wood to make fire was attached.
Every little details tells us that owners love to have guests in their charming house.
