The views were so relaxing and the accommodation was so clean and warm. The hosts were like family after only the first meeting. Would absolutely stay again and again. Hot tub was a lovely experience. Most relaxing holiday we have had for a long time, didn't want to leave. The breakfast was the best I have ever had, too.

Hotel set in a lovely tranquil lawned garden which could be accessed from the patio area out of the drawing room. The bedroom we had overlooked the garden and was wonderfully quiet. We had the windows open and enjoyed the fresh county air and birdsong. The bedroom was large, the bed extremely comfortable and made up in crisp white bedlinen. The bathroom was also large and functioned well though it looked a little dated. Breakfast and Dinner were both delicious, good portions and all the food was thoughtfully prepared and well cooked. A nice selection of local cheeses too. Wine selection very good and a large selection of drink at the bar area. We were very well looked after and enjoyed the elegant furnishings and surroundings of the hotel. A treat to stay somewhere so relaxing and peaceful.

You wake up to sheep going past the window, it's absolutely quiet save for a few owls at night, the hosts couldn't be more lovely and helpful and cooking facilities on site were a lifesaver!, we were given clear instructions for checking in and breakfast is offered on site (with notice), If you stay here and have any issues talk to the hosts they were really responsive and helpful, it's a working farm and great for kids too.

We had a great stay at Kirkwirral. The location is unique, and the property enjoys all comforts including a clean and modern room, great shower and comfy bed, a sauna, a relaxing hot tub and a nice cabin log where you can chill with a drink or a cup of tea. Gim and Yvonne were very kind and helpful, ensuring that all guests were feeling comfortable in their place. The freshly-prepared breakfast was also excellent and suitable for all kind of preferences, ranging from traditional to vegetarian/vegan, etc. Highly recommend!
Beautiful property in an idyllic countryside location. Being remote it may be harder to find but we had no trouble. Beautiful scenery and cosy place - we had terrible rainy weather mostly so it was a nice haven to come back to.

Lovely cottage with private garden in the countryside. Nice views and not too far from Dumfries centre. Good location for traveling to many places. Everything you need in the cottage includes large flat screen TV with dvd player and dvds. Also many games and books. Bedrooms were very spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfy, as was the sofa. It was very peaceful and quiet - only the sound of wildlife. I wish we had been able to take a couple more days yhere.
We loved the self catering cottage. Beautiful surroundings and ideal for travelling with a dog. We had a lovely evening walk along the river. The bed was amazing- Very comfortable and the bedroom was cosy and quirky.

Beautiful setting out of the way. Surrounded by nature and flowing brooks with waterfall. So unexpected. The garden and patio area was a delight to chill in and when it got chilly the cabin was perfect. The hot tub and sauna were the icing on the cake. Beautifully presented throughout and above and beyond clean.
I loved the hot tub and sauna the room was really nice and cosy the owners were very friendly and welcoming was an overall great experience also the breakfast was delicious I like the fact they have smoothies with it
