Johnston Canyon Lodge & Bungalows, hotel in Banff

This Banff resort is located in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It features an outdoor patio with barbecue area and a tennis court. Guest accommodations includes a TV.

Your staff is AHmazing, starting with Julia in the front office cabin. She was so sweet and welcoming and followed through on a couple of important requests that she said she would try to honor. She sent us an available microwave and a toaster so we could have breakfast in our room. (Unfortunately, there were no satisfactory vegan breakfast options.) The rest of the staff we met and clicked with were Valentina, who was lovely! She was nice enough to lend us a couple of bowls for our breakfast oatmeal, the gals in the restaurant - Sheila and Hannah, and the rest of the staff! The shower was WONDERFUL! We loved our stay. Thank you!

Room was very cute and cozy. We used the fireplace at night since it was so cool but the room did have proper heating. The coffee and homemade snacks in theodge were amazing. As was the food in the restaurant. Definitely a favorite of the trip! If you can get a reservation I would do it in advance (all booked for us) but we got take out to eat in our cabin which was just as good 🙂

Room was fantastic. We had a studio with a kitchenette and fireplace. It was so cozy and roomy. Location was perfect, 6 minutes away from the town and close to a shuttle stop. Furthermore, a 3 day shuttle pass was provided free of charge which was unexpected. The hot tub was a delight, with gorgeous views of the mountains and a unique shape that offers guests their own space

The trip was to chill, relax by the fireplace after the hot tub, and most importantly, away in the countryside. The hotel was great! You can even order bottle of wine to be ready for your check-in time.. Swimming in the hot spring outdoors while it's snowing is just awesome. Especially in the winter!

Lovely outdoor hot tub, perfect for after skiing. Comfortable and stylish lounge in main lodge. Loved the fireplace in the room. Mule deer strolling between hotel buildings in the morning. Very close to regular/local bus into town which drops at the skibus stop. Good free/strong hotel WiFi.

The 'Breakfast room' had a big, warm, lodge feel with fireplace, couches and long wooden tables. We spent 2 hrs each morning visiting w/ family and in the evening ordered pizza and played games in the same room while some of our party made s'mores outside by the fire and sat in the hot pools/sauna.

We travelled USA/Canada for 5 weeks and Canalta Lodge was by far the best value for money. The room is spacious, with lots of floor space for our snowboarding gear. The hotel lobby has a great vibe, with s’mores daily, cosy fireplace, bar and board games. We used the hot tub outside each day after coming back from snowboarding which was awesome. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The staff at this hotel are excellent, so helpful and although the hotel isn’t modernly decorated (as per other reviews) we found it charming, lodge style like it was supposed to be, family friendly and cozy. The roaring fireplace when you enter was so appreciated, and so was the warm sauna. It’s in a great location, we only stayed one night and then went to stay across the street at Peaks. We said when we come back (because we had such a great time), we are going to stay the whole time at Banff Park Lodge.
