The venue nestled in the bushveld was delightful, offering all the charm one would expect from such a setting.
The road to the venue adds to the rustic adventure, with constant corrugation and a high middleman on the road leading to the farm requiring careful navigation to protect your car's undercarriage. It's all part of the offroad experience, which they do advise is not ideal for lower cars, but I was eager for the adventure, and it was worth it.
While wildlife sightings were sparse, we managed to see quite a lot during our early morning departure from the farm. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I'm sure will be even more magnificent in the summer's heat.

I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations.
Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.
It's a place for the lovers of nature and peace.
You need a high clearance vehicle as the roads are gravel and rocky at certain places.
Perfect for star gazing especially when load shedding hits the area.

We always enjoy our visits to the Waterberg area. We enjoy the fact that it is not accessible for everybody, so it is never crowded. The fact that there is not always cellphone reception helps one disconnect from the busy city life and rest properly.
