We spent just one night at the Springfontein Wine Estate, but it left us wishing we could stay longer. From the moment we arrived, Nozi greeted us at reception with a warm smile and friendly welcome, setting the tone for our stay. The staff’s friendliness and willingness to go above and beyond made a real difference. Special thanks to Zinhle, the manager, who even started a fire in our cottage after dinner, making the evening even more cozy. Busi attended to us during dinner and breakfast, ensuring our meals were served with a personal touch.
The food was excellent, offering great value for money, and the flavors left us thoroughly impressed. Walking around the farm was a delightful experience, with beautiful views and serene surroundings providing the perfect escape. Springfontein Wine Estate is not just about great wine; it’s about exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Well situated, spacious, super friendly, all I needed. Potentially noisy - it's part of a bar restaurant - but I wasn't disturbed. The power failure was responded to immediately and fixed as quickly.
The historic and tranquil White Water Farm is located in the rural Kleinriver Valley, 6.2 mi outside of Stanford and within 30 minutes drive from Hermanus.

The baskets were amazing. Portions were more than enough. Freshly baked seed loaf and croissants yummy. We even ordered to take home with us.

Stanford is a small village located 21.5 km east of Hermanus, close to but not on the Indian Ocean, on the main road to Gansbaai. It is well serviced with shops, filling statons and restaurants and is close to several wine producing areas such as the 'Hemel and Aarde' valley.
It's size is perhaps one of it's main attractions, as it affords the right ambiance for the traveller to relax and unwind from the daily hallenges of city living.
We stayed at the Strandfontein Wine Farm, 7 km from the village, where we utilised their excellent dining facilities, but there are several restaurants of good quality in the village. The village centre is small enough to cover by walking, and the traffic is very light for pedestrians.

A quaint little town about 20 mins from Gansbaai .
A quaint little town about 20 mins from Gansbaai . Some lovely little restauarants in town & La Casita where we stayed was wonderful , from the warm welcome by Lyn on day 1 to the unexpected tequila from Mark. The service and the food was good & some entertainment on a Sunday afternoon. The town is lit up with some fairy lights so it almost fees like Christmas every night . Plenty of opportunities to walk around the town , down to the river and it is safe . The Panthera Cat Sanctuary is about 10mins away & worth a visit

Stanford, Gansbaai and Hermanus are all very close, so there is much to do and see.
There are several wine estates in the area and Stanford village has a bustling Saturday "stoep" market, providing lots of cool shopping options.
The nature reserves provide cool hiking trails and for lazy cooks there are plenty of dining out options.
If you haven't visited this area yet, it must go onto your list of places to see!

It has a delightful small town feel about it with restaurants and shops. There is a friendly, laid back atmosphere whilst Hermanus is a short drive away with its numerous attractions. In short it offers all the attractions of Hermanus whilst being in a peaceful rural setting.

Upon arrival there was someone, Chrissy, waiting on us and her enthusiasm and energy while showing us the accommodation made it very nice experience. We stayed in the main house which was spacious and all the basics that you need is available. The accommodation is within walking distance of most things within Stanford. Great accomodation and will definitely use accommodation again.
Location was fantastic. Hosts were wonderful. Had an amazing time cycling, walking and being in nature with very easy access to Stanford and many other places of interest.
